One95™ roles control user permissions in the platform. One95 Administrators oversee roles within the Settings page's Roles tab.
Access the Roles tab by selecting Settings from the navigation panel and clicking Roles in the menu at the top of the page.
To learn more about role assignments, reference our article on One95™ Role Assignments.
Default Roles
There are nine default roles available in the One95 platform.
One95 roles are used to map the district roles synchronized from your rostering platform into One95 within the Settings page's Connect tab. One95 roles drive district role permissions and data visibility into the platform.
Two roles apply to all One95 users: Teacher and Administrator.
The 95 Literacy Intervention System™ (LIS) offers seven additional default roles: District, School, Grade, Group Leader, Reading Coach, Teacher No Groups, and Student. LIS roles determine how users can interact with student data within the platform.
Every default role is visible in the Roles tab, regardless of whether your district has LIS enabled. Non-LIS districts can disregard LIS roles.
Students
When the LIS is enabled, student records are synchronized between One95 and your district’s rostering platform. The Student user role is displayed but disabled within the Roles tab, as students do not have access to the platform.
Rostered students are mapped to the Student user role by default in the Connect tab during synchronization. District roles cannot be mapped to the Student role.
One95 users have visibility into the students with which they are associated based on your district's rostering platform.
Custom Roles
Create custom roles by duplicating default roles via the ellipsis menu and modifying their permissions in the Roles tab. This enables customized visibility into the platform.
Roles outside the nine default roles within the Roles tab are custom, meaning they can be updated and deleted at any time.
Custom roles may be created by 95 Percent Group during the initial platform configuration or by other One95 Administrators in your district thereafter.
Role Permissions
While viewing a role by clicking the ellipsis menu within the Roles tab, marked checkboxes indicate the user can access the One95 feature or function. Unmarked checkboxes indicate the user does not have access.
Set Access Abilities
Access abilities determine the role’s platform feature and function permissions.
