Settings | Roles

Modified on Fri, 07 Jul 2023 at 08:01 AM

The Settings | Roles page allows users to set access permissions that provide access to One05 platform functions and student data views.  Default user roles supplied by the system are displayed for viewing and new roles can be customized by duplicating default roles.

1. Settings page sub-navigation menu bar offers access to the Environment, Connect, Roles, Licenses and Activity functions. Click on the sub-navigation text word to go to each specific settings page.  Clicking on Roles will bring up display of the One95 default roles, plus any additional customized roles that you have previously created.

Display User Roles

2. One95 default roles come with the platform and reflect common sets of features for common sets of users encountered in K-12 schools.  These roles can be mapped to and viewed or duplicated, but their attributes can not currently be edited or deleted.   Default roles include:

Administrator -- this role can be used for district or site-level administrators and enables access to the Settings pages.  At least one user with the Administrator role is required for your district and a primary site administrator will have been created when the One95 platform was created for your district.  This primary site administrator will be enabled with a single license to all One95 platform ecosystem resources.  Additional site administrators can be created to accommodate backup administrators and/or site administrators.

District -- this role can be used to provide district-wide data visibility for advanced use of the One95 platform.  Unlike Administrator role, District level users do not have access to the Settings pages.

Teacher - this role can be used to provide access to the Today page and Resources pages for teachers who are using the One95 platform to access 95 Percent Group digital materials.  In advance uses of the One95 platform, the Teacher role also defaults the scope of data visible to students that have been rostered into their associated classes.

Grade - this role supports advanced uses of the One95 platform providing a student data view across a grade or grades.  It can be useful to support interventions in a Walk-to-Read intervention approach.

School - This role supports advanced use cases of the One95 platform providing a student data view across one or more schools.

Group - This role supports advanced use cases of the One95 platform providing a data view of students that are in an intervention group supported by the user.

3.  The Updated column displays the date that the corresponding role was created or last updated.

4.  Clicking on the More ellipses for a row opens a function selector dialog window prompting with choices to View Role, Update Role, Duplicate Role, or Delete Custom Role.   Update Role and Delete Custom Role are only enabled for Roles that were created by an Administrator user, not for the default roles that are delivered with the platform.

Clicking on the View Role, Update Role, and Duplicate Role displays the following page, where the Role Name displayed is the Role of the row selected.

If Duplicate Role was selected, the user will see the selected Role to be duplicated and be prompted to create a new Role name.

Clicking on Delete Custom Role will prompt the user to confirm deletion of the custom Role.  If users are assigned to the Custom Role a warning message will prohibit deletion and the user will be prompted to remap users to a different role before allowing deletion of the custom role.

View, Update, or Duplicate a Role

1. Click on any sub-navigation text word under the Settings menu label to go to each specific settings page at any time.

2.  Access Permissions are enabled or disabled for each row.  Access permissions include:

Settings -- When enabled, the user will have access to the Settings pages in their left menu navigation tree.  This permission is intended for district and site level administrators of the One95 platform.

Active Groups -- When enabled, and when the district has licensed advanced One95 platform features, this permission provides access to the Active Groups page where users can add and remove students into or out of intervention groups.

New Intervention Cycle -- When enabled, and when the district has licensed advanced One95 platform features, this permission provides access to the Active Groups page where users can add and remove students into or out of intervention groups.

More Resources -- When enabled, the Resources page will be split into two sections, with a licensed resources carousel at the top of the page and additional resources that the user may not have access to or that the district has not licensed at the bottom of the Resource page.  Users who have More Resources enabled can click on a favorites heart for any resources in the More Resources section to access the Wish List feature and submit a resource Wish List request for their platform Administrator(s) review.  When More Resources is not enabled, users will see one panel of licensed resources on their Resource page and not have access to the Wish List function.

3. and 4. Advanced implementations of the One95 platform include the ability to customize views of rostered student data to accomodate different intervention approaches.  Clicking on One or more Schools or Grades will expand or limit the scope of student data visible for the role.
